Covid 19: a letter to the families we support

Dear Parent/Carer,

As you will no doubt be aware, the coronavirus continues to evolve and it appears likely that it will spread more widely in the days and weeks ahead.

As a responsible charity, we recognise that this will be a stressful time for you and your family. I want to reassure you that we are taking the outbreak of coronavirus very seriously, prioritising both the wellbeing of the young people and families we support and also our staff.

The children and young people we support are considered very low risk when it comes to coronavirus, but the people they return home to are dealing with complex illnesses and underlying conditions and therefore considered very high risk.

Taking that into account we have reached the decision to temporarily stop all our face to face work. Both our group activities and our one-to-one work will stop until the 27th March, at which time we will review the situation.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience that this temporary stop will undoubtedly cause, we are continuing to offer our confidential one-to-one service online via the Suzie Hope Facebook page. All the people we support aged 13 and above are invited to use this service as an interim measure, until we can restart our face to face programme of work again.

If you have any concerns or questions about anything in this letter, then please do get in touch on 01989 566317 or email help@hopesupport.org.uk. We will contact you again after our review on 27th March with a further update.

Yours sincerely,

Michael Sharp
