We ♥ Students

So here’s three reasons to choose Hope as the charity for your RAG week or SU fundraising events…

1. Your fundraising will directly support other students

Hope supports students and young people when a close family member is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, such as cancer. You may know someone who is going through this right now.

As around 68,000 young people find themselves in this situation every year in the UK, the chances are there are students at your university right now trying to cope with a family illness whilst doing the best they can to keep on top of work and life.

By fundraising for Hope, your student union could be directly supporting members of your own uni through an incredibly difficult time.

2. Let’s work together on this

Flyer & poster designs, social media campaigns, email marketing, press releases, radio interviews, assemblies/presentations – we’re massively grateful for support like yours so we’ll do everything we can to help you.

Wherever you are in the country, we’ll work with you to make your RAG week or other fundraising ventures an epic success.

3. We have a track record of success

We’ve supported students like Chris and Jez from the University of Gloucestershire, who decided they wanted to do something amazing to raise money for Hope.

As producers at their student-run radio station, Tone Radio, Chris and Jez came up with the idea to hold a record-breaking 65 hour on-air radio marathon. It was a huge challenge but they did it, and news of their success quickly spread to radio, newspapers and social media. Even the Principal of the University showed his support during a live interview on the show.

Hope supported the inspiring team by producing marketing materials, collecting raffle prizes, promoting the event online, attending on-air interviews, hosting games, and turning up with a hot drink and some much-needed chocolate.

Get in touch with us if you have a fundraising idea of your own, and we’ll do as much as we can to help make it a success.

The Students who Hitchhiked 5,000 Miles for Hope

Between them, they travelled 5,253 miles across 5 different countries, caught planes, trains, busses and lifts in a constant 36 hour challenge that raised over £3,000. See what happened when the University of Gloucestershire’s student union RAG group organised a Jailbreak for Hope.

Incredibly, the intrepid participants TRIPLED the total raised in the previous year, donating a whopping £3,235 to Hope.
